About Us

SEC Youth are commited to and accountable for:

  1. Worshipping God freely
  2. Leading a Prayer filled life
  3. Discipling others as they grow
  4. Standing up in our communities
  5. Working together to support smaller AY societies
  6. Working with governmental and non-governmental agencies

SEC Youth are committed to and accountable for:

Accepting God’s permission to experience Him through individual and corporate worship that is spirit-led, biblically driven, all-inclusive, interactive, creative, and passionate.

Developing a power-filled prayer culture, which is key to all we do in all life settings and is love-driven and intimate as we mature in Christ.

Utilising and nurturing their abilities into spiritual gifts for discipling others, whether through small groups or other creative forms of evangelism, and in turn lead to personal and corporate growth.

Going to and being with their communities and creating initiatives that will support existing projects to address local societal issues such as social injustices, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, gun and knife crime, teenage pregnancy, homelessness, anti-social behaviour and relationship-abuse.

Volunteering their time and resources smarter (e.g. health and counselling expertise) by setting up local branches of a national AYS charity, which will attract local government and non-government funding.

Setting up a rotating, multicultural task force of leaders who will support and mentor small AY societies in their local outreach ministries.

Our Mission:
To lead Young People into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ
and help them embrace His call to Discipleship.

Our Aim:
The Advent Message to all the world in our generation.

Our Motto:
“An army of youth, rightly trained, to carry the message of a crucified,
risen Saviour to the whole world.” (Ellen G White, CSA 66)

Goals:

  • To continue to ORGANISE the resources of youthful energy for active service for others
  • To continue to INSTRUCT church youth leadership in the various methods of teaching theory, and given them program techniques of ministry to help Adventist youth reach their goals
  • To continue to SAVE the children and youth of the church by leading them personally into a SAVING RELATIONSHIP with JESUS CHRIST
  • To continue the work of the department in TRAINING THEM to share Christ happily and skillfully, realising that “those who thus devote themselves to unselfish effort for the good of others are most surely working out their own salvation”  (Steps to Christ, p.80).

Our tasks:

  • To continue to lead youth to understand their individual worth and to discover and develop their spiritual gifts and abilities
  • To continue to equip and empower youth for a life of service within God’s church and the community.
  • To continue to ensure the integration of youth into all aspects of church life and leadership in order that they might be full participants in the mission of the church.
