Perfect for your weekly Adventist Youth meeting or Friday-night fellowship time. These small group discussion questions have been developed to help your youth group reach another level in fellowship, with God and each other. Each year the questions are focused on the yearly theme designated by the General Conference Youth Ministries Department.

We may not have all the answers, but we have some really great questions…enough for the entire year.

Hit LONDON

By popular demand, Hit London is back.

Hit London gives young people the training and facilities to be able to preach, teach and reach others in this generation.

We are going on the battlefield for Christ. Training all those who want to preach during the Olympics (27th July – 11th August).

This is not just for London, for wherever the Olympics are taking place, God’s message must be preached.

We are asking for every Youth Department to plan to take on board the preachers and also to send their young people to get fired up.

If you want your church AY department to be involved, then apply. Funding is available from the SEC Youth Department.

I believe at such a time as this, God calls his young people to give the message to the world.

We are the people and this is the time. GOING FOR GOD….Hit London (and also Outside of London)

SEC Youth Day of Fellowship

It’s a new season and period for the youth ministries in the south of England. To begin this period we will be holding a day of fellowship. It is a time to celebrate and be thankful for what the Lord has done for us so far. It will also be a time to meet and get to know our fellow brethren in the Lord, network, fellowship and socialise together.

It will be a packed rally and commitment day, including signing up for our Ambassadors for Christ ministry, Hit London Preaching and Evangelism, and youth outreach campaigns during the Olympics 2012. Also, we will be introducing the Young Adventist Leadership Forum and Annual Awards where we have committed to giving award prizes such as £600 for the best leaders.

The theme for the day is “Use Me Lord“. Asking for God to use us as vessels in this day and age to proclaim and tell the world about his love and his soon coming.

Teens Prayer & Bible Conference

Prayer & Bible Conference is BACK!!

We will be holding the return of the SEC Prayer & Bible Conference. Traditionally, Prayer & Bible Conference has been and continues to be a life changing experience for many teenagers from around the conference and Europe, this year is your chance to come and experience why. SEC Federation & Youth Leaders Training Weekend

We are holding a training weekend for all the SEC Federation and Youth Leaders on the 13th-15th January 2012. The weekend is specifically for area leaders and youth leaders from the various areas of the South England Conference. Our speaker for the event will be Pastor Frederic Russell (Allegheny West Conference President).

DeVere Hotel, Wokefield Park - Goodboys Lane, Mortimer, Reading, Berkshire RG7 3AH

Cost:

£75 per person (based on two people sharing a room)

SEC Youth Envisioning Weekend : Steps towards a brighter future

The SEC Youth Envisioning weekend held at Wyboston Lakes on the 28th-30th October was a time for young people, young adults and youth leaders to fellowship together, discuss ideas and socialise in a Christ centered environment. The theme for the weekend was “Rightly Trained” which echoed the vision set out by the youth directors for the new term. We had a few moments to discuss ideas and suggest new ones in order to improve the ministry.

The purpose was to identify the weaknesses experienced and the suggestions on ways of improvement. Below are some of the discussions that took place:

Lack of input into the Youth Dept

‘The Youth have a voice and want to express views’

Suggestion

Increase feedback options – generic and event specific – facilitated by the Website

General feeling that the provinces in particular are ostracised

‘Everything is always held in London’

Suggestions

SEC Days of Fellowship in other areas.
Identify under –performing areas and Pastor Thomas to address individually.
Pastor Thomas to travel around the prominent churches in each area to engage them spiritually & socially.

Lack of (regular) communication

Suggestions

Increased regular communications:

Weekly/Monthly ‘Newsletter’.

SEC Youth App – VERY VERY EFFICIENT

Both of these ways are measurable & will reduce overall print costs. Allows us to have a more direct response – (quick instant response) & publish pertinent responses – good up to date stats – leads to a more meaningful statistics. Need to have a spectrum of marketing communications – aligned, uniform (email, FB, flyers, app)

New Team

Welcome to a new administration in the SEC Youth Ministries Department. We hope you have had a great summer of socialising, travel, holidays, fellowship and fun. As we move ahead, we would like to introduce to you the new leaders in our department. You will find below our aims and objectives and vision for the coming term and the future.

Our Motto:

To lead Young People into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and help them embrace His call to Discipleship.

Our Aim:

The Advent Message to all the world in our generation.

Our Motto:

“An army of youth, rightly trained, to carry the message of a crucified, risen Saviour to the whole world.” (Ellen G White, CSA 66)

Goals:

To continue to ORGANISE the resources of youthful energy for active service for others

To continue to INSTRUCT church youth leadership in the various methods of teaching theory, and giving them program techniques of ministry to help Adventist youth reach their goals

To continue to SAVE the children and youth of the church by leading them personally into a SAVING RELATIONSHIP with JESUS CHRIST

To continue the work of the department in TRAINING THEM to share Christ happily and skillfully, realising that “those who thus devote themselves to unselfish effort for the good of others are most surely working out their own salvation” (Steps to Christ, p.80).

Our tasks:

To continue to lead youth to understand their individual worth and to discover and develop their spiritual gifts and abilities

To continue to equip and empower youth for a life of service within God’s church and the community.

To continue to ensure the integration of youth into all aspects of church life and leadership in order that they might be full participants in the mission of the church.

We look forward to working with you to fulfill our great commission of “the Advent message to all the world in this generation” as “an army of youth, rightly trained, to carry the message of a crucified, risen saviour to the whole world”

The Word 4 Today is an excellent daily reading/devotion that is produced by the United Christian Broadcasting organisation. (UCB is a Christian media ministry within the UK and Ireland formed to promote the good news for the Kingdom of God). It has relevant, meaningful and inspiring content to encourage yourself, your friends and fellow church members to get close to God daily and to live life the way God intended. The best bit is also that its FREE even though I would personally pay to receive this magazine, its that GOOD! Just sign up to received the adult magazine here or the teen edition here!

We would also really encourage the Youth Leaders to get out and promote the Word 4 Today in the local church as this is an invaluable resource!
